UNION GAP, Wash. — Los Hernandez LLC is recalling approximately 9,090 pounds of chicken and pork tamales that were produced without federal inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Friday.

The recalled products include 30-pound boxes of “Los Hernandez Authentic Pork Tamales Hand Made” and 30-pound boxes of “Los Hernandez Authentic Chicken Tamales Hand
Made” that were produced between Dec. 3, 2018 and Feb. 7, 2019.

Individual tamales may have been packaged and sold to consumers between December 2018 and May 2019. There are no specific labels for consumers who bought individual tamales.

The problem was discovered by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse effects caused by eating these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

The USDA says these products should be thrown away or returned to where they were purchased because they are not considered safe for consumption.
