Mama’s Diner helps feed hundreds this Thanksgiving
BENTON CITY, Wash. — A Benton City restaurant helped feed hundreds of needy people this Thanksgiving holiday.
This was the second year in a row that Mama’s Diner hosted their Thanksgiving dinner. Lori, or Mama as she likes to be called, said she helped feed 300 people last year and estimates that she fed even more this year.
“I just want to make sure everybody has a meal and their tummies are full and warm and happy,” Mama said.
Guests were able to enjoy turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, green beans, corn, pies, cookies and more. Some people came as far as Idaho, according to Mama.
“They tell me thank you for being able to do this and feed them and they appreciate it very much,” Mama said. “They tell me the food is good, so that’s definitely good!”
Mama said this is all made possible through donations and help from her crew.
Mama’s Diner will also host a free Christmas dinner on Dec. 23. There will be presents and opportunities to take pictures with Santa.
