Man arrested on rape charges after student notifies school counselor

KENNEWICK, Wash. – Kennewick police arrested Robert Berryhill, 41, for sexual assault on Wednesday after a student told a school counselor about an inappropriate situation.

The child told the school counselor about alleged inappropriate contact committed by Berryhill.

Kennewick police say the student’s counselor immediately notified a KPD school resource officer, who started investigating the claims of the inappropriate contact.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division contacted the student an were able to identify Berryhill as the suspect.

Police were able to locate Baryhill, who is not employed by the school district, and arrest him. H

He has been booked into the Benton County Jail on charges of 3rd Degree Rape and Child Molestation.
