Man charges Benton County deputy, tries to run away after being pulled over
BENTON CO., Wash. — A suspected drunk driver is in custody after charging at a deputy and then trying to run off.
According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Daniel James last night after he pulled into his driveway.
James then got out of his car and charged at the deputy, angry that he was being stopped and claiming he had made it to home base. When James was told he was not free to leave due to the smell of alcohol on his breath, he decided to make a run for the house.
James was quickly taken into custody and booked into jail.
