Man dies of cardiac arrest after crash with semi in Kittitas Co.

2-year-old, 69-year-old injured in Yakima Co. crash
KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. – A 29-year-old man died of cardiac arrest after a crash in Kittitas County on Sunday afternoon.
According to officials, around 3 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a semi versus pickup crash at the Hanson Road and Cove Road intersection.
Investigators say that 29-year-old Thomas R. Conger of Ellensburg was driving eastbound on Hanson Road when he didn’t stop at the stop sign at Hanson and Cove.
Conger was then struck by a truck driven by 51-year-old John Hundoft of Moses Lake.
Conger was taken to Kittitas Valley Hospital with the intent of being airlifted. However, shortly after takeoff, he went into cardiac arrest and was unable to be revived.
Drugs or alcohol are not believed to have played a factor.
Kittitas County Sheriff Myers said in a statement, “It is always a tragedy when we loose a member of our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Conger’s family and friends… Please remember to avoid activities that can distract you from your primary goal, to get there safely.”
