Man driving under the influence crashes into parked WSP Trooper


Washington State Patrol report drugs or alcohol were a factor when a man rear ended a Washington State Trooper.

Just after 6 p.m. Sunday, 41-year-old Paul Bishop was merging onto westbound I-82 from Valley Mall Boulevard when he rear ended the 46-year- old Washington State Patrol Trooper who was parked on the outside shoulder of the highway, totaling both vehicles.

Both men were transported to Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital with injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and WSP says the charges are pending.
