Man punched, robbed in Milton-Freewater

MILTON-FREEWATER, Ore. – Police are investigating an armed robbery of a newspaper delivery man that occurred at approximately 5 a.m. on Jan. 5.

According to Milton-Freewater police, 24-year-old Nelson Tyler Hazelton was walking along S. Main St. near SW Eighth or Ninth when a man approached him and punched him in the face. The suspect took Hazelton’s cellphone and headphones before running away.

The suspect is described as being thin, around 5’11” to 6’ and dressed in dark clothing with a blue bandana covering his face, according to police. Hazelton also said the suspect was carrying a gun.

According to police, Hazelton was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Walla Walla after getting treatment at the scene for an apparent non-life-threatening injury to his face.
