Man shot twice in Yakima drive-by shooting
YAKIMA, Wash. — The Yakima Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that left one man with injuries.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Friday, police got a call about the shooting near Garfield and Oregon avenues. 32-year-old Alberto Tamoyo was shot twice and sent to the hospital. His current condition is unknown.
According to Capt. Gary Jones, the injuries are not life-threatening. The victim told police he was walking when an unknown car drove past him and fired shots.
Tamoyo and witnesses say they say a tan or light-colored SUV in the area at the time of the shooting. Police were not able to located a vehicle matching the description.
Jones said it’s not believed to be gang-related at this time, but detectives are still investigating. No arrests have been made at this time.
