Man takes off from deputies, ends up in Pasco Police Department’s parking lot

A man is facing several charges after leading the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on a short chase to the Pasco Police Department.

On Monday around 3:30 p.m., a deputy was walking out of the Franklin County courthouse. He heard a commotion in the parking lot involving a man and a woman inside a car.

When the deputy went over with his patrol car, 29-year-old Jose Loera took off. The woman was out of the car before Loera sped off.

It wasn’t a high-speed chase, but he did blow a few stop signs, police say.

Loera drove through neighborhoods before he turned into the Pasco Police Department’s parking lot.

Deputies say it was during shift change, so more officers were at the station than normal.

Upon further investigation, the woman said Loera was driving to the courthouse erratically and wouldn’t let the woman out of the car.

Deputies say Loera is no stranger to law enforcement. He was arrested for unlawful imprisonment, attempt to elude and driving on a suspended license.
