PD: Man throws homemade incendiary device onto garage in Hermiston

HERMISTON, Ore. — Hermiston police arrested a man who allegedly threw a “homemade incendiary device” on top of a garage in a case of attempted arson on Sunday.

Jeremiah Michael Morgan, 20, is facing charges of first-degree arson, possessing and manufacturing a destructive device and reckless endangerment. His bail has been set at $350,000.

Police said Morgan threw the incendiary device onto a garage in the 500 block of E. Browning Ave., then fled on foot. He was later located and arrested near Southwest Ninth Street and West Highland Avenue around 5:22 p.m.

According to Chief Jason Edmiston, police believe Morgan knows the victim and that the crime was part of an ongoing dispute.

Morgan is being held at the Umatilla County Jail.
