Man wins $250K, 129 other Washingtonians claim vaccine prizes
A Washington state man claimed the first $250,000 prize for the state’s “Shot of a Lifetime” vaccine incentive program, and 129 others have claimed their merchandise prizes.
The state says Lance R., claimed his prize of $250,000 on Thursday.
As of Thursday evening, the state reports that 129 of the 248 merchandise prizes had been claimed.
Some of the prizes include X Box consoles, Nintendo Switches, Amazon Echo Dots, and Discover Passes.
The state is warning those who have been vaccinated of potential scams.
The Department of Health has issued special phones for officials making calls to prize winners. They say most have a “253” area code and one has a “564” area code.
Each winner has 72 hours to claim their prize, therefore it’s encouraged to answer calls from those numbers or check your voice messages.
