Masked men rob Yakima Burger King with firearm
YAKIMA, Wash. — An armed robbery investigation is underway after two men stole cash from the Burger King on 1605 Terrace Heights Way.
Two masked men forced their way into the building just after 3 a.m. as employees were closing the store. One worker walked outside to change the store sign when the men ran from behind a dumpster and confronted him.
At least one of the men was carrying a handgun but no one was hurt during the robbery, according to Yakima police spokesman Mike Bastinelli. .
They demanded cash and made off with the store deposit. The amount of money inside was not disclosed.
The men had a similar approach and physical appearance when compared to previous armed robberies in the area this year, police said.
The men are estimated to be in their early to mid-20s. One wore all black with a black backpack, mask and gloves. The other wore a black hoodie, blue jeans and a mask resembling a skull, police said.
This is Yakima’s 23rd armed robbery of the year.
