Jade Redinger is a former titleholder in the Miss America Organization, she was honored to be selected as Miss Tri Cities 2003. During her year of service she spoke on a platform of children’s cancer awareness and performed and sang at a number of different venues. Jade went on to earn a spot in the Top 5 and was selected Miss Congeniality by her peers at Miss Washington. Her parents were glad that 15 years of private voice lessons paid off! Although she has yet to solve hunger, cure cancer or combat world peace she volunteers as a pageant director and a coach for a number of young ladies competing in the Miss America and Miss USA systems.
Jade is a proud graduate of the Edward R Murrow College of Communications at Washington State University where she earned her BA in Broadcast Communications and Theatre. Go Cougs!!! Jade decided at the age of 5 that she wanted to be like Katie Couric and Diane Sawyer, so as a kid she would practice reading the news at home by turning the TV on mute and reading the close caption like it was her teleprompter. Right after graduating college Jade was hired as a reporter, anchor and producer and KNDU and quickly moved her way up to KHQ-TV in Spokane. After taking a little break from the newsroom, she is back and couldn’t be more excited to be in her hometown with her family and community.
When not at the station Jade enjoys being on the river, golfing, and is trying to enjoy running half marathons She loves to sing, dance, watch movies with Judy Garland in them, sew, paint, camp and wakeboard. She also wrote a children’s book that she is hoping to get published.
