Super Bowl XLIV Saints Finally Break Through: After trailing the Indianapolis Colts for the entire first half, the New Orleans Saints took the lead briefly in the third quarter and then scored again with less than 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter to take a 24-17 lead. During Peyton Manning’s ensuing drive into New Orleans territory, Tracy Porter intercepted a pass for the first takeaway of the game and returned it 74 yards for a touchdown, basically sealing the 31-17 victory for the Saints, who won their first title in the team’s first Super Bowl appearance.
