Meth suspect arrested trying to flee from West Richland police

A man was arrested for meth possession after trying to flee from police on his bicycle.

Officers received a report of an intoxicated man on Bombing Range Road early Tuesday morning.

When they showed up, they found Ricky Stricklin riding his bike and refusing to stop. A short pursuit ensued as

Stricklin yelled profanities at them. He also tossed a baggie of suspected meth, police said.

The suspect wrecked his bike during the chase and knocked himself unconscious.

When he woke up, he began his “colorful rant at the officers attempting to provide him aid,” police said.

He was transported to a local hospital for no-life threatening injuries. Police cited him for violating laws while riding his bike along with obstructing, meth possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
