Miramar Health Center opens new location in Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash. – After two years of planning and construction, Miramar Health, run by Yakima Valley Farm Worker’s Clinic, opened their newest location in Kennewick.

The massive, two-story building sits where North Kellogg Street and West Rio Grande Avenue meet.

Senior Director of Regional Operations Matt Davy said their goal is to serve the underserved, although they’re open to anyone.

“Our goal is to again, make it as simple and easy as possible but also be able to sort of remove the burden of cost,” Davy said.

Since they are federally-funded, Miramar can welcome patients of all ages regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status, something that’s been much needed during the pandemic.

“There’s no doubt it’s greatly impacted and really changed the way we look at healthcare right? And highlighted the importance of access to care. Ninety-some percent of our patients are 200 percent of the federal poverty line or below,” Davy explained.

Inside their Kennewick facility, a patient can see a doctor for general health concerns or a checkup, visit a dentist and even have lab work done, without leaving the building.

“This is our first building in the Tri-Cities with the ability for all those services, also behavioral health and dieticians and outreach services,” Davy said they have a psychologist on staff.

Miramar Kennewick is open from 8 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday and Saturday’s, 8:45 AM to 5 PM.

“We want to remove any reason to not let healthcare be accessible, we want it to be accessible. So yes, Saturday hours, evening hours, it’s an important part of offering care to our communities,” he said.

By summer time, the center will open their pharmacy and by September, they’ll have seven, full-time primary care providers with room to grow, and help people in the Tri-Cities.

“We’re excited to serve the community at the greatest possible level and we have the space to grow into and do that,” Davy said.

Miramar Health also has a health clinic in Pasco, Dentistry for Kids in Kennewick and Columbia Basin Pediatric Dentistry in Kennewick as well.
