‘An example we should all follow’: Moses Lake man, 20, was killed by gunfire while defending his home

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — The family of a 20-year-old man killed while trying to protect his Grant County home is simultaneously raising awareness about his senseless murder and funds to give him a proper burial in the wake of tragedy.

Moses Lake police officers responded to a home on the 3000-block of Road H Northeast shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 30. There, officers found Alistair Waggoner, 20, dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

A person close to Alistair, Savannah Miller, later confirmed that he was trying to defend the home when he was killed. However, the person responsible has not been identified or located at this time.

Now, loved ones are trying to come to terms with this sudden loss of a young life. It has shaken the family to its core, so in their time of need, they are turning to the community for help in funding his funeral.

“We will never stop loving Alistair. The sweetest most kind-hearted young man we have known, an example we should all follow,” Miller said. “In life, we loved you dearly, in death, we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill. Never. Love you. We will miss you.”
