Moses Lake man arrested in Pennsylvania under suspicion of killing his wife

UPDATE at 10:05 p.m. on Sept. 23: The man who was the subject of a nationwide warrant after his wife’s body was found in rural Lincoln County, has been arrested.  

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reached out to the US Marshal Service requesting help in tracking Charles Bergman down.  

He was located in New Stanton, Pennsylvania on Friday, September 23, and was arrested under suspicion of first-degree premeditated murder.  

As of Friday, Charles was awaiting extradition to Washington.

UPDATE at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 23: Hours after the body of a Moses Lake woman who has been missing for several days was recovered in Lincoln County, an extraditable nationwide warrant has been issued for her husband, Charles Bergman, who is suspected of committing first-degree murder.

As confirmed by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Theresa Bergman’s body was recovered in rural Lincoln County on Sept. 22. Charles was said to be picking her up from Spokane International Airport and no one has heard from or seen them since.

Charles Bergman, who is being considered dangerous, is expected to be driving a silver 2013 Chevy Impala with the WA state license plate No. BLU5395. If you see him or have any information to contribute, you’re urged to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 509-725-3501 or call 911.

LINCOLN COUNTY, Wash. — A body found in rural Lincoln County is believed to be that of missing Moses Lake woman, Theresa Bergman.  

Theresa and her husband, Charles Bergman, were reported missing on Sunday. The couple had last been seen at Spokane International Airport, where Charles was picking up his wife. 

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says the body was found in tall grass near Kintschi Road, which is north of Sprague around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 22.

The body matches the description of Theresa Bergman and is now in the care of the Lincoln County Coroner.  

The Spokane County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.  

Charles Bergman is still unaccounted for. However, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office both shared a surveillance photo of him at an ATM. They do not say when or where that photo was taken.  

Charles was last known to be driving a silver 2013 Chevrolet Impala with Washington license BLU5395.
