Motorcyclist dies in wreck near Prosser

PROSSER, Wash. – A 65-year-old man from the Tri Cities died in a motorcycle wreck on a remote stretch of road outside Prosser Sunday.

The man has been identified, but his name isn’t being released pending the notification of family.

The Benton County Sheriffs’ Office reports sometime between 12 and 1 p.m. at Sellards and McKinley Spring roads the man lost control on a curve and crashed his Harley motorcycle.

There were no witnesses.

A passerby found the man around 1 p.m. and called police.

The 65-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say preliminary information indicate speed and alcohol may have been factors.

The wreck is still under investigation.
