Motorhome fire in West Richland caused by mechanical failure

A motor home in West Richland burned to the ground this weekend, and Richland police have determined a cause.

West Richland police shared photos of the aftermath just outside the West Richland Area Senior Center on Saturday morning.

They say the person inside made it out safely, but their motor home was a total loss.

West Richland police tell us the motor home was old, and that the fire was started by a mechanical or electrical failure.

Police are reminding RV owners to have working smoke and CO detectors installed.
