Multi-Million dollar investment enhances local wine maker industry
BENTON CITY, Wash. — A multi-million-dollar investment is helping wine makers build a stronger future Tuesday.
The Columbia Label production facility is now constructing the first of its two new HP digital label press machines.
The company adopted the digital press technology to enhance wine label production, make labels more affordable and convenient on wine makers in the Northwest.
One director said just how the new project will help the entire wine industry in Washington.
“Easier for them to source things here locally in this area. We’re going to be able to get their small runs as well as their large runs. We’re going to be able to do things faster and more efficiently while offering them all the standards that they are used to,” Columbia Label Director of Sales and Production Katii Deaton said.
The new label press will allow wine makers to develop labels that match the unique profiles of their wines including embossing, hot stamping, specialty coatings and special embellishments.
Both pieces to the project should be up and running after January.
