New Kennewick spa offers dry flotation bed experience
KENNEWICK, Wash. — A new Kennewick spa is looking to offer a unique experience for its guests through several special features.
After eight months of construction, Hempyhands Massage had its grand opening about two weeks ago. Owners Anthony Federico and Felicia Curtis picked the name to reflect the CBD oil they use during their services.
The 12-room spa offers massages, facials, body wraps and more. There’s also several special features that set the business apart from other spas in the area.
One is the zerobody dry flotation bed. Federico and Curtis imported the bed from Italy. Hempyhands Massage is one of the only places in the U.S. to have one.
“It’s basically all the benefits you would get from a salt water deprivation tank but you don’t have to take your clothes off,” Federico said. “They say that 30 minutes in the float bed is equal to 3 hours of sleep.”
Another feature is the Himalayan Salt Room. Over 6,000 pounds of salt was imported from Pakistan to build the room, and it has some great health benefits.
“The Himalayan salt is really good for your lungs, for breathing disorders like cystic fibrosis,” Federico said. “It also helps block electromagnetic radiation, like from our cell phones.”
The spa also offers Ashiatsu massages, which is the deepest style of massage in the world. It is applied with foot pressure and is great for lower back and hip pain.
Hempyhands Massage is located off of W Clearwater Ave. It is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday through Saturday. You can make an appointment or find more info about Hempyhands Massage on its website.
