UMATILLA COUNTY, Ore. – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office is welcoming a new, furry member to their team.

After graduating from five weeks of training earlier this month at Creek Kennels in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania the department is now introducing K-9 Deputy “Skoty”.

Skoty graduated alongside his handler Deputy Cody Marcum and have since returned to Umatilla County.

Skoty the K-9 is an 18-month-old male Belgian Malinois from the Czech Republic.

He will be used for tracking, apprehension and narcotics detection.

“We look forward to having Deputy Marcum and K-9 Skoty on the road soon. They will make a great addition to our staff!” the department wrote in a Facebook post.
