Benton County Sheriff's Office swears in their first 'Sheriff's Posse'

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. - Nine community members have been sworn in to Benton County's "Sheriff's Posse." 

On Wednesday night, Benton County Sheriff Jerry Hatcher welcomed the new members. The program is designed to serve the community and support the mission of the sheriff's office.

The Sheriff's Posse will participate in outreach programs such as Cops and Kids, the Touch-A-Truck events, parades and much more. In addition, the nine members will help in a limited capacity with search and rescues, traffic control and recovering large livestock.

Members will also ride with deputies to view their workday.
