Coroner identifies man shot and killed in Granger

GRANGER, Wash. - The Yakima County Coroner’s Office has identified a man fatally shot in Granger on Friday as 44-year-old Joe A. Fuller.

Fuller was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in a ditch, according to Yakima County sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies responded just before 7 a.m. on Friday to the 1600 block of Cherry Hill Road in Granger after receiving reports that a vehicle had crashed after gunshots were heard in the area, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Authorities are not releasing the cause of death at this time.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-248-9980, visit or call Detective Brian McIlrath at 509-574-2550.

The fatal shooting marks the county’s seventh homicide this year.
