KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Echoes of Jatzivy Sarabia are everywhere inside her mother's Richland home.
Her room hasn't changed. There's a bag of masa still in the cupboard she used to make tortillas. Even the scent in Kimberly Sarabia's home was one that the 18-year-old loved.
"A lot of sadness, a lot of emptiness, like she's very missed," Kimberly said.
Despite the chasm left from her daughter's death, Kimberly can't help but smile.
"I can smile because I just love her so much, but she is missed like it's hard to remember that she's gone," she said.
In the six months since Jatzivy was shot and killed while riding in the backseat of a friend's Jeep, six people have been charged in connection with the murder investigation from October 15, 2022.
Court documents revealed that Jatzivy was in the Jeep with her friends, when they were shot at by people in two other cars in Kennewick.
Kimberly said it's devastating that so many people were involved.
"That that many people chose to make such bad decisions and the detectives and the prosecutor they've all been amazing," she said.
Isaiah Combs, 20, was arrested for first degree murder, among other charges.
Shortly after, Layshawne Bethea-Dickerson,14, was also charged with murder. Another teen, Carnell Green, 18, was charged with rendering criminal assistance.
More recently, Maya Williams, one of the drivers, was arrested and charged, but released on personal recognizance.
Shania Guevara was charged with rendering criminal assistance for allegedly helping another suspect hide a gun in her apartment.
Marlon Pratt Jr. is also wanted in connection with this case, but hasn't yet been arrested. There is a nationwide warrant out for his arrest.
The trial for Combs is scheduled to begin in May.
"I plan to go and I'll be there everyday," Kimberly said. The trial is set to start just before Jatzivy would turn 19."Decorate her room, because nobody lives in it, and then we'll probably go to her gravesite."
Kimberly said her daughter had so much ahead of her, and plans to attend each trial until justice is served.
"I just do the best that I can and remember that my kids are missing her too - so I don't want to take myself away from them."
