Driver blows through intersection, launches into air and lands on car in Walla Walla

Car crashes into Walla Walla home

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Walla Walla Police responded to an unusual sight on Friday night near Tietan Street and Fern Avenue.

Dispatchers were called about a loud crash and a man from the area around 7:12 p.m. When police arrived, they found an empty Jeep Cherokee on top of another car and partially in the garage of a home.

Investigators later identified the driver who was sent to the hospital for his injuries. No one else was injured.

Police later determined how the SUV landed on the car. The driver was said to be speeding east on Tietan. When the driver didn’t stop at an intersection, police say he veered off the road, hit a large boulder and flew into the air.

The car the driver landed on was the owner of the home damaged.

The name of the driver has not been released. It’s unclear what charges he’ll face.
