Drunk driver hits two WSP patrol cars, trooper says

BOTHELL, Wash. -- The Washington State Patrol says a drunk driver crashed into two troopers' patrol vehicles in western Washington over the weekend.

Trooper Rick Johnson tweeted that the driver was traveling northbound on I-405 near 160th Street outside Bothell when he struck the vehicles late Saturday evening.

One of the troopers had minor injuries. The other was standing outside the vehicle and did not get hurt.

Investigators determined that the driver who caused the crash had a blood alcohol content of twice the legal limit of 0.08. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

WSP shared dash cam footage of the collision that appears to be from the suspect driver's car.
