Ellensburg cop pulls over to save turtle crossing the road

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Why did the turtle cross the road? We may never know, but at least we can say the little guy made it across safely.

On Wednesday, an Ellensburg police officer spotted a turtle crossing the road near the Ellensburg cement plant.

The officer noticed that the turtle was putting itself in harm's way, so he pulled over and guided the turtle to the other side. Somewhere in between, police said a very brief "standoff" ensued.

Adorable photos of the turtle made their way to the Ellensburg Police Department Facebook page.
