Frozen Snake River Bridge causes multiple crashes

As that freezing fog continues, bridges and overpasses are quickly becoming ice rinks.

In a tweet Friday morning, Trooper Chris Thorson said several cars crashed on the State Route 12 bridge over the Snake River.

In his tweet Trooper Thorson said the bridge was competely frozen over.

Nearby, a Pasco woman was taken to the hospital after crashing her car into a concrete barrier.

WSP said she was driving too fast for the conditions.

Bridges are more at risk for ice right now because they have airflow underneath.
