Heritage students deliver 350 food boxes throughout Yakima Valley

YAKIMA, Wash. - Heritage University students delivered food boxes to local underprivileged families for their 8th Annual Pantry of Hope drive.

Heritage's Enactus program and local companies donated food that will be delivered to low-income families in the Yakima Valley.

Enactus is a program that gets students involved in local community service.

The students handed out 350 food boxes to underprivileged families at Granger High School, Toppenish Middle School and Washington Middle School.

The food boxes had rice, beans, canned goods and toiletries.

Enactus Program Director Dioselina Virduzco said she’s happy they were able to help out families that are in need during this time of year.

“We had people come who just relocated to the area,” said Virduzco. “They walked several blocks just to pick up their boxes.”
