Kennewick strip club license expected to be approved next week

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A new strip club in Kennewick is expected to gain its final approval from the city next week.

After being denied a business license earlier this month, the owners of City Stars Gentlemen's Club asked for a 20-day extension period.

They had until next Thursday to make some changes to the building, and it looks like they'll meet that deadline.

"They've been complying with all that the city's been asking to this point and so really the next step is for them to get their final inspections to make sure everything is up to code," says Evelyn Lusignan, spokesperson for the city of Kennewick.

The owners will also operate a separate sports pub next door.

Washington law prohibits selling alcohol at strip clubs, so even when their license is approved, they will not be able to sell alcoholic drinks in the actual club.

The club and sports pub will be located in place of the former Lucky Bridge Casino building on South Gum Street near the Cable Bridge.
