KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A level 3 sex offender was arrested Tuesday after police say he carried a 12-year-old girl into a bathroom and raped her, according to Kennewick police.
On Aug. 30, the girl told police a man named "Sky" who she knew from the skatepark in Kennewick had sexually assaulted her.
The girl said she was at an apartment on Clearwater Avenue near Albertsons when the suspect carried her into a bathroom, pulled her hair and forced her to perform oral sex.
The girl said she repeatedly told him "no," but the suspect ignored her.
Police later identified the suspect as 19-year-old Skylar Issac Nelson. He was booked into jail on charges of second-degree rape of a child. His bail is set at $250,000.
Nelson is a transient who was convicted of second-degree rape in 2014, while he was still a juvenile. His level 3 sex offender status means he poses a high risk to the community.
