ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Just after midnight on Friday morning, Kittitas County Fire and Law Enforcement agencies received reports of a fire at Al Dahra ACX, which is a hay press and exporter, located in the 6000th block of Vantage Highway.

Once they arrived on scene, crews found two buildings involved in the fire: one, a maintenance building for ACX, and another, including ACX offices and the Ellensburg Racquet and Recreation Center.

The Sheriff’s Office posted drone footage of the smoldering fire onto their Facebook.

The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office said both buildings were destroyed, as well as a substantial amount of hay, but no one reported any injuries.

It’s estimated the fire caused around $7 million in damage.

Around 2:40 PM, Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue posted on Facebook to report that units were still on scene from the fire. As of that time, the fire was contained but not out. Crews had to use heavy machinery to overhaul the fire.

They thanked their mutual aid partners from the Yakima Fire Department, Yakima Training Center Fire Department, Kittitas County Fire District 7, and Moses Lake Fire Department.

The fire is still under investigation by the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office, Fire Marshal’s Office, ATF and KVFR Fire Investigators. The cause has not been determined.
