UPDATE: The Hermiston woman who died in a car accident on I-82 Monday has been identified as Maia Taylor, 18.
It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were related to the crash at this time.
PREVIOUS: A Hermiston woman is dead after flying off of the highway and falling nearly 300 feet to her death.
The Washington State Patrol is investigating the one car collision that took place on Interstate 82 Monday afternoon.
Fire crews worked for hours to get the deceased woman out of a ravine, just five miles outside of the Tri-Cities.
Trooper Chris Thorson said WSP received a report that a car had gone over the railing on I-82 westbound, heading from Hermiston toward Kennewick.
Officials said only the female driver was in the vehicle.
So far no other details have been released about the woman.
Troopers are investigating to see how this all happened.
