Update: Yakima Police arrest the suspect of armed robbery

YAKIMA, Wash. - Update: Yakima Police have arrested the suspect of the armed robbery.

Yakima police are asking for the public's help in providing any information about a Friday night armed robbery at a mini-mart.

Witnesses reportedly told police a man entered A&A Mini Mart — 708 N. Fifth Ave. — about 8:40 p.m., pointed what officers believe to be a rifle at the clerk and demanded money. 

Officers say the suspect fled the mini-mart with an undisclosed amount of cash, got into a vehicle a short distance away and left the area. A K-9 team searched the area, but the suspect was not located.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Yakima Police Department at 509- 575-6200 or by calling 9-1-1.
