Rash of burglaries target Walla Walla County wineries, tasting rooms

WALLA WALLA COUNTY, Wash. - Authorities say a burglar appears to be targeting wineries and tasting rooms throughout Walla Walla County.

Walla Walla County sheriff's deputies are investigating a rash of recent burglaries in the area, according to a sheriff's office Facebook post.

"In every incident the individual has broken out the glass front doors of the business before entering the location and taking money from the cash registers located inside," the post said.

The sheriff's office is recommending businesses remove all cash at the end of the work day or put it in a secure location, "as the individual appears to be mostly after loose currency," the post said.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 509-524-5400.
