Richland man eats victim's Panda Express and falls asleep during vehicle prowl

KENNEWICK, Wash. - One man is now enjoying jail food instead of someone else’s takeout after they were found sound asleep in someone else’s truck. But first, the man ate the victim's Panda Express.

Around 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Kennewick officers got a report of a man in a woman's truck near Union Street and Kennewick Avenue in the HAPO Credit Union parking lot. When police got there, 46-year-old Paul McVay was fast asleep in the driver's seat.

The truck owner knew this wasn’t a dream. She almost had to be pinched to make sure she was awake because of something that was missing from her car -- her dinner. Police say McVay ate the driver’s Panda Express. The evidence -- empty containers were left in his lap.

The truck wasn't damaged. McVay was arrested and booked for vehicle prowling.
