KENNEWICK, Wash. - New artwork will soon sprout from a new roundabout in Kennewick built to accommodate new customers in an area primed for development that now sports a new credit union building.
That's a lot of new -- but that's not all.
STCU (Spokane Teachers Credit Union) built its latest location, the STCU Southridge Financial and Home Loan Center, at 4704 W. Hildebrand Blvd. It opened late last month.
The credit union is now working with the City of Kennewick and Cobalt Designworks to add some artwork in this blossoming part of Southridge: a 25-foot-tall metal sculpture depicting a family celebrating around some flowers.
"Blossoming Joy" will go up in the Hildebrand/Zintel Way roundabout in the spring along with some landscaping.
The roundabout, which links the Southridge and Canyon Lakes neighborhoods, will be surrounded by more retail and residential projects before you know it.
STCU also plans to open a new location in another fast-growing part of the Tri-Cities. The Queensgate Financial Center at 2590 Queensgate Drive in Richland opens January 7. A Pasco branch is also set to open next year.
