PROSSER, Wash. -- A three-hour standoff in Prosser led to the arrest of a man wanted by the Washington State Department of Corrections, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
Jesse Gonsalez drove past DOC officials who were looking for him in Prosser Wednesday morning. Deputies said he had a felony and misdemeanor warrant for his arrest.
A short time later, the officials tracked him down to the area of Albro and Wine Country roads.
He got out of the car but refused to obey their commands and fled toward a home in the 500 block of Albro Rd.
Around 11:20 a.m., the DOC officials called the Benton County Sheriff's Office and Tri-City Regional SWAT to help apprehend the suspect.
SWAT officers and BCSO K-9 Sable found Gonsalez hiding under a trailer and took him into custody at about 2:20 p.m., deputies said, adding that the owner of the residence was cooperative and denied knowing the suspect.
