Walla Walla PD: suspect 'points gun at group of juveniles', punches officer in the face

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - A man suspected of threatening juveniles, and punching a Walla Walla police officer in the face is arrested on Saturday. 

Walla Walla police responded after getting a call about a suspect ‘pointing a gun at a group of juveniles' near Pioneer Park.

Police found the suspect vehicle on Whitman Street just after 8:30 p.m. After making contact, police say a man in the car punched an officer in the face. 

A police officer then used a Taser to subdue the suspect, and then arrested him for 3rd degree assault. They say the suspect sustained minor injuries. 

Later on, police searched the vehicle, and they found a ‘replica gun that unfolds into a knife' inside. 

The Walla Walla Police Department is still investigating the incident, and anyone with information should contact 509-527-1960.
