Walla Walla police warn of man's alleged sexual behavior near schools

WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Walla Walla police are warning the public about a man who was arrested twice in recent weeks on suspicion of criminal sexual behavior.

Police say Juaquin Avalos, 34, was arrested Tuesday after he was caught watching porn and masturbating in his car near Whitman College's Reid Center. He was booked into jail for indecent exposure, which is a misdemeanor, said Capt. Kevin Braman.

About three weeks earlier, police arrested Avalos for communication with a minor for immoral purposes after he allegedly tried to speak with two girls who attend Walla Walla High School as they were walking home from class. He was also charged with violating the right to privacy for filming them without consent, Braman said.

"Law enforcement is concerned that Avalos may visit other schools or public areas outside the City of Walla Walla," police said in a news release.

Avalos drives a gold-colored 2002 Toyota Camry with Washington license plate 977TZW. Anyone who sees this vehicle near a school should contact local law enforcement.

For residents in the Walla Walla area, call dispatch at 509-527-1960.
