North Dakota mayor reelected with 100% of town’s 3 votes

A North Dakota man was reelected to another term as mayor after all three of the town’s voters cast their ballots for him.

Bruce Lorenz, 86, has been mayor of Ruso for more than three decades. He told the Minot Daily News that he had forgotten it was even election day until his daughter reminded him.

Because of recent health issues, Lorenz has been living in an assisted living facility.

“My health went to pot this spring,” Lorenz said. “I can’t even walk anymore without a walker. Life gives us some strange roads. We’ll see what takes place.”

Despite his health issues, Lorenz says he still plans to serve his new term as mayor.
