Officers fatally shoot man who opened fire in Wenatchee church
WENATCHEE, Wash. — Wenatchee Police Department (WPD) says a man who opened fire inside a church has died after officers fatally shot him.
Officials say they were dispatched to the area of North Chelan Avenue and Palouse Street around 8:27 a.m. on Saturday, May 7th for reports of a man shooting into the Living Hope Church.
WPD says one officer sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting.
According to a press release by WPD on Saturday, the suspect was shot and fatally wounded by officers.
The incident is currently under investigation by the North Central Washington Special Investigation Unit.
