One dead in multi-vehicle accident near Adams on Hwy 11

A woman was killed in an accident on Highway 11 near Adams on Tuesday.

The three vehicle accident involved two semi-trucks and a Ford Explorer, according to the East Oregonian.

The driver of the Explorer was ejected from the vehicle and died before medics reached the accident.

The passenger of the Explorer and the two semi-trucks were uninjured.

One of the trucks lost it rear axles and leaked around 50 gallons of diesel into the road. A Hermiston hazardous material team cleaned the spill, the East Oregonian reported.

As of 4:10 p.m., Highway 11 remains closed near milepost 8. Drivers should take alternate routes.
