Partridge Family star David Cassidy “surrounded by family” in hospital

“Partridge Family” star David Cassidy has been hospitalized with organ failure, in Florida according to reports.

ABC News reported that Cassidy, 67, is suffering from kidney and liver failure. His representative told The Associated Press on Saturday that Cassidy is conscious and “surrounded by family.”

In his entertainment career that has spanned about 50 years, Cassidy has also worked as a musician and Broadway performer.

In addition to the show “The Partridge Family,” that ran for four season on ABC, he’s also appeared on TV shows including “Bonanza,” “Malcolm in the Middle,” “The Celebrity Apprentice” and “The John Larroquette Show,” for which he also wrote and performed the opening theme song.

The 67-year-old said earlier this year that he was struggling with memory loss. He also announced this year that he was ending his career after a few concerts.

The actor and singer said that traveling and his arthritis made performing difficult.
