Pasco Chamber of Commerce putting local nonprofits on display
PASCO, Wash. — The Tri-Cities community will have the opportunity to learn about the nonprofits around the region and how to get involved.
The Pasco Chamber of Commerce’s Nonprofit Showcase Luncheon is being held at the Red Lion Hotel in Pasco on Monday. In previous years, the chamber hosted a handful of nonprofits at their December luncheon, but this year they felt the need to expand.
“Last year, I think we had seven that we had time for, but we had to turn away 12,” said Colin Hastings, executive director of the Pasco Chamber of Commerce. “So we see that there’s demand, and that people in our community really want to engage with our nonprofits.”
This year, at least 26 nonprofits will be on display at an expo that will take place before and after the luncheon. Hastings said they may be able to accommodate more nonprofits if others show interest before Monday.
The luncheon program will feature a keynote presentation by Shawn Tacey, CEO and co-founder of Our Mayberry, a new tech start-up based in Seattle that enables transaction-based fundraising.
The expo goes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the luncheon starts at noon. Gesa Credit Union is providing $10 in ‘Gesa Bucks’ to every attendee to donate along with their personal gift to a nonprofit of their choice.
Admission to the luncheon is $25 for members and $35 for non-members. If you’d like to attend, or you’d like your nonprofit to be featured, contact the Pasco Chamber of Commerce at 547-9755 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
