Pasco Crime Roundup: Chain snatching, aggravated assault, burglary & car theft

Local police officers faced these four individual crimes over a busy Spring weekend.

PASCO, Wash. — Over the weekend, officers from the Pasco Police Department dealt with a variety of crimes ranging from theft to felony assault. Each of these crimes occurred between Friday, May 7 and Monday, May 10 in Pasco, Washington and were reported via the PPD’s Facebook page by public information officers.

$3,000 CHAIN STOLEN FROM LOCAL JEWELER

Pasco Police officers are looking to speak with the young adult male in images No. 1 and No. 2 regarding a theft that occurred at Joyeria La Perla on Friday around 5:30 p.m. He is accused of stealing a gold rope chain worth about $3000.

Local authorities say that the suspect is a male in his 20s with a thin build and black hair. He was seen wearing a gray and black checkered long sleeve shirt, dark jeans, a black facemask and white athletic shoes. He is also identifiable by a tattoo of a rose on his right hand, per Pasco police.

BURGLARY SUSPECTS CRASHED THROUGH GLASS WALL

Two suspects — Jesus Rito Nuñez (33) and Rickie R. Zimmerle (65) — were arrested around 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 8 after a tenant of an office building discovered a giant hole in a plate glass window at a store on the 800-block of W Lewis St. Officers were called to the scene and searched the interior, making contact with the two suspects.

Officers say that the duo complied with their commands and was booked into the Franklin County Jail for burglary to the second degree. In addition to the broken window, the two men also broke a security camera.

FIGHT LEADS TO STRANGULATION

A 23-year-old man was arrested by local authorities who responded to the scene of a fight. Suspect Zachary Jose Velasquez was arrested around 12:45 PM on Saturday on the 1100-block of West B Street. It was alleged that Velasquez choked the other person until they were unable to breathe.

BLUE 2006 BMW STOLEN OUT OF PASCO

A BMW 330 pictured in the gallery above was stolen from the 600-block of S Owen Ave sometime late on Sunday night or early on Monday morning. The vehicle’s license plate number is BVP1610. The vehicle is identifiable by the missing trim on the passenger side of the car.
