Pasco man allegedly attacks roommate who refused his sexual advances

PASCO, Wash. — A Pasco man allegedly made aggressive sexual advances toward his female roommate before attacking her at their home on Jan. 16.

The woman told police she’d recently been living with 61-year-old James Ray Danley in the 1500 block of N. Third Ave. near Court Street when the attack occurred at about 6 p.m.

She said they were not in a romantic relationship.

According to a police report, Danley started making unwanted sexual advances by grabbing the woman’s crotch, buttocks and breast. When she refused his advances, police said he allegedly got on top of her, headbutted and punched her and dragged her on the floor.

Police said the woman fought back and was able to break away. She ran down the street and called police from the corner of Fourth Avenue and Court Street.

When police responded, they saw facial injuries that were consistent with the woman’s story, Pasco Police Sgt. Rigo Pruneda said.

Then on Tuesday, Jan. 21, police received an anonymous tip that Danley was at his home. They located and arrested him there at about 2 p.m.

Danley was booked at the Benton County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault with sexual motivation.
