PASCO, Wash. — Police say a 40-year-old Kennewick woman managed to drive 16 blocks on three wheels after slamming into a utility pole while driving drunk less than an hour into the new year.

Amymechele Claborn was driving on West A Street near South 12th Avenue when she crashed a Toyota Tundra pickup into the pole early Wednesday.

Police said she continued down A Street for 16 blocks before turning onto 28th Avenue to get to the Tahitian Inn. The wheel and part of the bumper was left at the scene.

When Claborn arrived at the inn, police received a call about a suspicious vehicle driving without a wheel and “making tons of sparks.”

Officers found Claborn with her pickup and arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run.
